Laura Reed & Deep Pocket - Press Article

From floor to ceiling the speakers in the listening room transforms into new musical chapters. This is a band that has a Moog, a turntable that gets scratches and all behind Laura’s folk rock stylings. The concept and vibe received is very soulful and still downright funky. The handcrafted embossed cover is a reason alone to search inside. The band has a great strength and a good share of emotions to keep the tunes moving. There isn’t a weak spot or place to sit down. Even a gentle hip sway keeps you into the whole CD. I’m impressed by track 3 and on, they have elements of those late night NY bands that I tend to miss. This is almost where I was hoping Portishead might have evolved into. The message is a powerful one of unity and love. It mirrors the human desire and craving for rich enhancing music and gives back this warm creation.
